Donald P. Goldsmith, MD, is a Professor of Pediatrics at Drexel University College of Medicine and Chief of the Section of Rheumatology at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. His career spans over three decades, focusing on pediatric rheumatology and immunology.
- Board certified in pediatrics, rheumatology, and allergy/immunology
- Developed the Childhood Health Assessment Questionnaire (CHAQ), a globally utilized tool for juvenile idiopathic arthritis
- Described NOMID (now recognized as a primary autoinflammatory disorder)
His research interests include autoinflammatory diseases, therapeutic agents for juvenile arthritis, and neurological complications of rheumatic disorders. Recent work emphasizes hyper IgD periodic fever syndrome (HIDS) and PFAPA syndrome.
