معرفی
Dominique Bergmann is the Shirley R. and Leonard W. Ely Professor of Biology at Stanford University and an Investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. She leads research in plant developmental biology, focusing on stomatal lineage and asymmetric cell division. Her work bridges molecular genetics and climate change adaptation in plants.
- Current roles: Professor, Associate Chair of Biology Department, HHMI Investigator
- Research areas: Cell fate, polarity complexes, plant epidermis, and environmental responses
Her contributions include identifying genetic and epigenetic mechanisms in stomatal development and pioneering proteomic studies of plant polarity. She has received prestigious awards such as the National Academy of Sciences membership and the Charles Albert Shull Award.
- Scientific Awards
- PECASE (2010-2015)
- NSF CAREER Award (2009-2014)
- Hellman Faculty Fellowship (2007)
Bergmann has mentored 18 PhD students and 27 postdocs, taught Stanford’s largest biology courses, and served on advisory boards for institutions like Harvard’s NSF-Simons Center. Her publications span over 150, with a focus on Arabidopsis and grass species.
