Dominika Sobotka

Dr. Dominika Sobotka serves as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Sanitary Engineering within the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Gdańsk University of Technology. Her research focuses on innovative approaches to wastewater treatment and resource recovery systems with practical environmental applications.

Dr. Sobotka's work centers on sustainable wastewater management with particular emphasis on nutrient recovery and ammonia removal technologies. Her research explores optimization of membrane processes for ammonia recovery, bacterial community dynamics in anaerobic systems, and development of cost-effective methods for macro-nutrient recovery from waste streams. She investigates how operational parameters affect process performance in wastewater treatment, with direct applications for improving global food security through recovered mineral fertilizers and sustainable resource management.

Her recent publications demonstrate a cohesive research trajectory focused on advancing sustainable wastewater management practices, with particular attention to nutrient recovery technologies and their real-world applications.
