Dominik Wagner, born in Vienna in 1997, is a Lecturer for double bass at the University of Music Würzburg since 2023. He is renowned for expanding the double bass repertoire through commissions, arrangements, and rediscovery of rarities, notably transforming Dvořák's Cello Concerto into a Double Bass Concerto premiered at KKL Lucerne in 2023.

His research and artistic practice focuses on elevating the double bass through virtuosic performance, historical arrangement, and interdisciplinary collaborations. He pioneers chamber music ensembles like the double bass quartet and duo with jazz bassist Georg Breinschmid.
Wagner has received accolades including the ECHO Klassik, Opus Klassik (Young Artist), and Fanny Mendelssohn Award. He has triumphed in prestigious competitions such as the Bradetich Foundation International Double Bass Solo Competition, ARD International Music Competition, and Eurovision Young Musicians Competition.
As a pedagogue, he teaches at the University of Music Würzburg and conducts masterclasses at institutions like Juilliard School, Peabody Institute, and University of North Texas. His students include Simon Aringer, Junbin Hwang, and Junzhe Jia, with whom he collaborates on arrangements.
