Dominik Rutana is a Researcher at SWPS University, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities in Warsaw and the Department of Asian Studies. He specializes in Korean culture, religions, and death rituals, with a focus on legends, myths, and comparative religious studies.
His recent publications include comparative analyses of Korean Buddhist and Daesoon Jinrihoe death practices, as well as studies on Kṣitigarbha and the Ten Kings of Hell in shamanic rituals. These works highlight his expertise in Korean death rituals, reincarnation doctrines, and afterlife iconography.
At SWPS University, he teaches courses on Korean language notation, religion and rituals, critical readings, and literary translations. He collaborates with institutions like the Institute of Classical, Mediterranean, and Oriental Studies at the University of Wrocław and The Asian Institute for Religion in Korea, and serves as a Korean language translator.
