معرفی
Prof. Dominik Bucher is an Assistant Professor of Quantum Sensing at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), affiliated with the TUM School of Natural Sciences and the Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on quantum sensing using nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamonds to achieve nanoscale NMR spectroscopy and sensing applications in chemistry, physics, and biology. He leads the Quantum Sensing group, exploring topics like surface NV-NMR for catalysis, single-cell metabolism analysis, and quantum materials development.
Education: B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry (TUM, 2010), Ph.D. in Physics (LMU, 2015), postdoc at Harvard University (2015–2019), and TUM Junior Fellow (2019–2022). Current roles include Rudolf Mößbauer Professor (since 2022) and co-founder of QuantumDiamonds GmbH.
Research interests span quantum sensors for NMR imaging, microfluidics, and biophysical systems. Recent work includes advancements in spin defect coherence, NV-based microscopy, and prebiotic UV-driven codon selection. Awards include the ERC Starting Grant (2020) and Felix Bloch Lectureship (2022).
Teaching includes courses on molecular spectroscopy, quantum sensing, and experimental physical chemistry. He actively contributes to interdisciplinary collaborations and technology transfer initiatives.
