Dominic Sur is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Utah State University, specializing in Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and contemplative practices. His research examines innovations in Buddhist thought, particularly the intersection of tantric logic and visionary epistemology derived from advanced meditation states.
His publications include translations and analyses of classical Tibetan texts, such as Entering the Way of the Great Vehicle (2017), which explores Dzogchen as the culmination of Mahāyāna Buddhism. A forthcoming work, The Practice of Philosophy: Metaphysics, Argumentation, and Identity in Tibetan Buddhism, further investigates Tibetan philosophical frameworks.
Professor Sur teaches courses in world religions, history of religion, and Buddhism. He is currently translating A Framework for Vehicles, an influential treatise on Vajrayāna philosophy, supported by a grant from the Tsadra Foundation.
