Dolores Lima is a Teaching Associate Professor and Spanish Language Program Coordinator at the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, University of Pittsburgh. Previously, she has taught at Southern Connecticut State University, Montgomery College, University of Maryland, and The Catholic University of America. She has also served as faculty at Middlebury College Summer School for over a decade and co-directed programs in Colombia.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on contemporary Latin American fiction, representation of laughter, narratives of the body, and pedagogical strategies for heritage learners. She explores intersections between literary affect theory and socio-political contexts in her analyses of 20th-century Latin American texts.
- Current teaching includes courses like Introduction to Hispanic Literatures, Spanish for Heritage Learners, and Latin American Social Movements.
- She contributes to curriculum development and professional training for Spanish language educators.
