Dmitry Karlov

Dmitry Karlov is a KTP Associate at the University of Nottingham School of Chemistry, working in collaboration with Colorifix to develop environmentally friendly coloration processes through computational chemistry and machine learning methodologies. He joined the Hirst Group in May 2023.

• PhD in molecular modeling and QSAR techniques for NMDA receptor ligands from Lomonosov Moscow State University
• Postdoctoral experience at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and Queen's University Belfast

Research focuses on:

• Integration of computational chemistry with machine learning
• Free-energy calculations in chemical systems
• Green chemistry applications for sustainable industrial processes

Active in the Hirst Group projects including AI4Green, KreinAMP, DEBT, and DichroCalc, with expertise spanning both theoretical and applied chemical modeling.
