Dmitri Trubitsõn is a Research Fellow at Tallinn University of Technology's Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology (part-time, 0.1 FTE) and currently a Data Engineer at Estonian Post Ltd. He holds a PhD in Chemistry (2021) and Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Natural Sciences from Tallinn University of Technology, all with cum laude distinctions.
His research focuses on asymmetric synthesis methodologies, particularly organocatalytic approaches for enantioselective construction of complex organic molecules like indoles and spirooxindoles. He contributed to projects funded by the Estonian Research Council, including 'Sustainable Asymmetric Synthesis Methods' (2021–2025) and 'Halogen Bonding Studies' (2017–2019).
Key publications explore enantioselective Michael additions, phase-transfer catalysis for nitroindole alkylation, and organocatalytic cascade reactions. His work advances sustainable synthesis techniques and expands understanding of acid-base behavior in non-aqueous systems.
