Diyar Talbayev is a Professor at Tulane University's School of Science and Engineering, specializing in ultrafast and terahertz spectroscopy of quantum materials.
Research Focus: Investigates light-matter interactions in complex materials using terahertz and femtosecond spectroscopies. Pioneers superoscillation techniques for superspectroscopy, designs magneto-chiral metamaterials, and controls topological textures in ferroelectrics.
Key Innovations: Developed waveform-shaping methods achieving 100-fold THz imaging contrast enhancement; demonstrated ultrafast neuromorphic responses in hidden ferroelectric phases; engineered optical nonreciprocity without chirality in semiconductor spirals.
Teaching: Leads courses in Solid State Physics, Nanoscience, and General Physics, integrating fundamental principles with advanced spectroscopic techniques.
