Divya Ramjee

Divya Ramjee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Department of Public Policy at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). She also serves as a researcher at the ESL Global Cybersecurity Institute and an adjunct fellow (non-resident) in the International Security Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Dr. Ramjee directs the Technology & Policy Lab (TPL) and the Crime & Digital Assets Clinic (CDAC) at RIT, focusing on cybersecurity, cryptocurrency, AI policy, and emerging technologies. Her work bridges academic research with practical guidance for public and private sectors, including pro bono support for law enforcement in digital asset-related cases.

Education:

• Dual MS from Johns Hopkins University (Krieger School of Arts & Sciences and School of Advanced International Studies)
• PhD from American University’s School of Public Affairs

Research Interests: Dr. Ramjee’s research examines security, privacy, and policy challenges in cybersecurity, blockchain, AI, and other disruptive technologies. Her labs employ statistical and computational methods to address real-world issues, such as digital asset crime mitigation and ethical AI deployment. Recent work includes advising on cryptocurrency money laundering cases, as seen in her participation in the landmark Bitcoin Fog prosecution trial.
