Divesh Srivastava is a Researcher at AT&T Labs-Research, focusing on Data Management and Private Data Release in the Big Data era. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA and a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India.
His research addresses the challenges of releasing anonymized data while preserving societal benefits from GPS device usage data in urban planning and disaster preparedness. He actively contributes to academic leadership as the Managing Editor of the Proceedings of the VLDB Endowment (PVLDB) and Associate Editor of the ACM Transactions on Database Systems.
He received the ACM Fellowship for his contributions to data management research. His keynote speeches, such as the one at LIG (Laboratoire d'Informatique de Grenoble), highlight his expertise in reconciling data utility with confidentiality.
