Dirk Jäger

Professor Dr. Dirk Jäger is the Executive Director of the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg and the Director of the Department of Medical Oncology at Heidelberg University Hospital. He oversees the clinical sector of NCT Heidelberg and leads translational research on immunotherapy, tumor immunology, and clinical trials for cancer treatment.

• Education: Medical training at the University of Lübeck and Freiburg; PhD in surgery from Freiburg University.
• Research: Focus on tumor antigen discovery, immune cell targeting, anti-CCR5 therapy, and combining radiation with immunotherapy. His work bridges preclinical studies and clinical application, particularly in colorectal cancer and melanoma.
• Awards: Recipient of the 2006 Investigator Award from the Cancer Research Institute.
