Prof. Dirk Bezemer is a Professor at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Economics and Business, specializing in finance, monetary economics, and economic development. He holds positions in the Global Economics & Management department and is affiliated with the Sustainable Finance Lab. His research focuses on credit systems, housing affordability, sustainable finance, and pension systems. He has taught courses in international finance, macroeconomic modeling, and globalization.

- M.Sc. Economics and Agricultural Sciences (Wageningen University, 1995)
Research Interests: Prof. Bezemer examines the interplay between financial systems and macroeconomic outcomes, including housing markets, green bonds, pension fund impacts, and debt dynamics in advanced economies. He advocates for policy reforms addressing financialization and has contributed to Dutch government housing policy recommendations.
