Dipen J Parekh

Dr. Dipen J. Parekh is a globally recognized urologic oncologist and leader in academic medicine. He serves as Founding Director of the Desai Sethi Urology Institute, Professor and Chair of the Department of Urology, and CEO of the University of Miami Health System. His academic rank is Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, holding the Victor A. Politano Endowed Chair in Urology.

Dr. Parekh’s expertise spans robotic surgery, urologic oncology, and healthcare innovation. He led the landmark RAZOR trial establishing robotic-assisted radical cystectomy efficacy and has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles. His awards include the AUA’s Gold Cystoscope Award and induction into the Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine of Florida.

In administrative roles, he has served as COO and CCO of UHealth, driving operational excellence and clinical efficiency. His research focuses on genomic classifiers in prostate cancer, AI integration in surgery, and improving patient outcomes through multidisciplinary approaches.

He trained at Memorial Sloan-Kettering and Vanderbilt, with additional leadership roles in mentorship and global healthcare initiatives. His work emphasizes advancing surgical techniques, translational research, and equitable healthcare delivery.
