Dipa Roy

Dr. Dipa Roy is a Senior Lecturer with a Personal Chair in Sustainable Materials at the University of Edinburgh's School of Engineering. She holds expertise in composite materials and processing, with a focus on sustainable and advanced manufacturing techniques. Previously, she held positions at the University of Calcutta and the Irish Centre for Composites Research (IComp). Her research spans thermoplastic composite manufacturing, biodegradable materials, and aerospace-grade composites.

• B.Sc (Chemistry Honours), University of Calcutta
• B.Tech and M.Tech in Polymer Science and Technology, University of Calcutta
• PhD in Polymer Science, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Jadavpur University

Research Interests: Liquid moulding of thermoplastic composites, RTM/VARTM manufacturing, biocomposites, dielectric processing of polymers, and recycled carbon fiber applications. Her work emphasizes sustainability and industrial relevance, with over 60 peer-reviewed publications and 12 book chapters.

Research Trends: Recent articles focus on seawater ageing effects on composites, hybrid materials from waste, and repair techniques for acrylic/glass composites, reflecting her commitment to environmental sustainability and advanced materials.
