Dip Raj Thapa is an Associate Professor in Nursing at the University of Skövde, School of Health Sciences, Department of Health Sciences. He holds a PhD in Health and Care Sciences and is a registered nurse and district nurse by professional background, having worked in somatic and psychiatric departments as well as in municipal home care.
His research focuses on health promotion in women-dominated work environments with cross-cultural comparisons between Nepal and Sweden. He belongs to the Citizen-Centered Health (MeCH) research group and has completed his doctoral thesis titled "A Health-promotive Approach to Maintain and Sustain Work-related Health in Women-dominated Work in Nepal and Sweden" in June 2022.
Thapa's publications reveal a consistent focus on occupational health, nursing profession challenges, cardiovascular health promotion, and digital health interventions. His recent work shows a growing emphasis on digital approaches to health education, particularly for adolescents in Nepal, and cross-cultural adaptations of health assessment tools like the Sense of Coherence Scale.
He teaches across multiple nursing programs including the nursing program, district nursing program, and school nursing program, and serves as a course coordinator for advanced-level courses.
