Ding Weixin

Ding Weixin is a Researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Nanjing Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Fund and has held visiting scholar and JSPS fellowship positions in Australia and Japan. His career has been dedicated to soil carbon and nitrogen transformation research, with significant contributions to environmental and agricultural sciences.

Education:

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Soil and Agricultural Chemistry from Nanjing Agricultural University (1984, 1987)
• Ph.D. from Nanjing Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2003)

Research Interests:
Ding Weixin specializes in soil chemistry and environmental biology, focusing on four key areas:

• Greenhouse gas emissions and microbial mechanisms in wetland ecosystems
• Soil nitrogen transformation and conservation
• Soil organic carbon dynamics and fertility enhancement
• Sustainable management of livestock waste and its agricultural reuse

He serves as Executive Director of the Science and Technology Innovation Alliance for Resource Treatment of Livestock and Poultry Breeding Waste, Director of the Chinese Society of Soil Science, and Vice Chairman of multiple CAS and environmental science committees.
