Professor Dina Matar is a leading academic at SOAS University of London, affiliated with the School of Anthropology, Media and Gender. With a PhD and MSc in Media and Communications and Comparative Politics from the LSE and a BSc in Chemistry from Jordan University, her career bridges journalism and academia.
- Research Interests: De-colonial political communication, critical media and cultural studies, memory studies, identities and diasporas, media and war.
- Key Roles: Chair of SOAS Centre for Global Media and Communications (2014–present), former Head of School of Interdisciplinary Studies (2020–2022).
Her publications analyze media narratives in conflict zones, with a focus on Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria.
