Dina Bite is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Rīga Stradiņš University. Her research examines social inclusion, rural development, and migration patterns in Latvia, with recent focus on healthcare system governance during green transitions.
She leads the GreenCare project investigating socially responsible decarbonization in healthcare. Current studies analyze rural newcomer integration, social exclusion in Preiļi/Līvāni districts, and COVID-19 impacts on agricultural supply chains. Her sociological work explores human identity in philosophical anthropology frameworks.
Bite coordinates international collaborations including DeCrises (EU decarbonization) and resilience studies with general practitioners. She serves as expert for the Latvian Council of Science and conducts policy-relevant research on regional disparities and labor market accessibility.
