Dimitris Bourantonis

Dimitris Bourantonis is a Professor of International and European Studies at the Department of International and European Economic Studies, Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He holds the Jean Monnet European Chair (2015-2018) and coordinated the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (2017-2020). His academic background includes degrees in Political Science, Law (University of Athens), and a PhD in International Relations (University of Reading).

His research spans international and European institutions, diplomacy, foreign policy, and Cold War history, with a focus on UN Security Council reform, EU multilateral performance, and disarmament policies. He has published extensively in journals like Cooperation and Conflict, Cold War History, and International Negotiation, and contributed to handbooks on EU-UN relations and inter-organizational dynamics.
