Research focuses extensively on destination image formation processes across stakeholder groups, with significant contributions to understanding resident attitudes toward tourism development. Recent work investigates how user-generated video content influences destination perceptions and travel motivations, plus post-pandemic opposition to tourism in island communities.
Publications demonstrate consistent theoretical development of emotional solidarity framework and destination image models. Recent outputs examine cognitive mechanisms underlying resident opposition to tourism, quality of host-guest interactions, and video marketing effectiveness. Research spans diverse geographical contexts including Fiji, Spain, Austria, Israel and the UK.
Dr. Stylidis maintains active research collaborations internationally and contributes to theoretical advancement in tourism social psychology through journal publications and editorial roles.
