Dimitrios Kyriazis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Banking and Financial Management at the University of Piraeus, School of Finance and Statistics. He holds a PhD in Economics from City University, London, with a dissertation on Mergers and Acquisitions. His academic career has been consistently focused on corporate finance, teaching courses on Financial Management, Business Policy and Strategy, and Mergers and Acquisitions at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
His research spans Corporate Finance and Strategy, emphasizing Mergers and Acquisitions, the role of activist shareholders (e.g., hedge funds) in corporate governance, market efficiency, information asymmetry, investment strategy performance, and executive evaluation metrics. His work has been published in high-impact journals such as the Strategic Management Journal, European Financial Management, and the Journal of Business Finance & Accounting. He also authored the book 'Mergers & Acquisitions' (2007, 2nd ed. 2016), a key resource in Greek academic and professional circles.
