Dimitrios Kampis

Dimitrios Kampis serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Business Organization and Administration within the School of Economics, Business and International Studies at the University of Piraeus, a position he has held since 1994. His academic career spans multiple international institutions including the University of Crete, University of Birmingham, and University of Durham.

Dr. Kampis earned his Ph.D. and MBA from the University of Birmingham's Department of Commerce and completed his undergraduate studies at Athens Business School (now part of the University of Piraeus). His educational background established the foundation for his dual expertise in both theoretical and practical business applications.

His research interests focus on contemporary business challenges with emphasis on Marketing and Finance sectors. Kampis specializes in Distribution Management, Business Valuation, Mergers and Acquisitions, Strategic Management, and Public Debt Management. His work bridges academic theory with real-world financial applications, particularly in international project financing contexts. His research portfolio reflects the evolving dynamics of global business environments and financial markets.

With approximately 30 years of professional consulting experience, Kampis has advised major international financial institutions including Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and HVB on public debt matters and large-scale project financing. His industry engagement complements his academic work, creating a valuable practitioner-scholar perspective that enriches his teaching and research. He has developed numerous international business collaborations while maintaining active business ventures.

At the University of Piraeus, Kampis teaches undergraduate courses in the Marketing and Finance sectors and delivers postgraduate instruction.
