Professor Dimitri Vayanos is Director of the Paul Woolley Centre for the Study of Capital Market Dysfunctionality at the London School of Economics. He holds a Diplôme d’Ingénieur from École Polytechnique and a PhD in Economics from MIT. His research focuses on asset pricing, market microstructure, and the impact of financial institutions on market efficiency.
His work examines liquidity risk, behavioral finance, and monetary policy transmission. He co-developed the European Safe Bonds (ESBies) proposal to address sovereign debt vulnerabilities.
Recent publications analyze passive investing effects on market concentration, term structure modeling, and the dynamics of financial crises. His research combines theoretical rigor with policy applications.
