Dr. Dimitra Daferera is a researcher and lab teaching staff member at the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA), affiliated with the Department of Food Science and Technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences and specializes in the chemistry and bioactivity of natural products.
Her research focuses on aromatic and medicinal plants, particularly isolating and studying their secondary metabolites. She has contributed to 18 research programs and published extensively, with 70+ journal articles and 34 conference presentations, demonstrating significant academic impact.
Dr. Daferera teaches laboratory exercises in courses like Instrumental Chemical Analysis, Organic Chemistry, and Natural Products Chemistry. She supports undergraduate and postgraduate students in their practical studies and thesis work.
She is part of the Laboratory of General Chemistry at AUA and has been actively involved in advancing research on natural products' applications.
