Dimitra Andrianou is a Senior Researcher at the National Hellenic Research Foundation since 2005, specializing in ancient Greek and Thracian archaeology. She earned her PhD in Hellenistic Archaeology from Bryn Mawr College (2003), preceded by an MA at the University of Pennsylvania (1997) and a BA in Archaeology from the University of Athens (1992). Her work spans excavations in Greece, Cyprus, and Turkey, with teaching experience at the University of Pennsylvania, Bryn Mawr College, and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Research interests include funerary iconography and architecture, domestic archaeology, ancient furniture, and Greek epigraphy. These themes are explored through publications on grave reliefs, textile practices, and architectural materials.
Notable articles examine Aegean Thrace's artistic influences, marble provenance, and textual references to furniture. Her 2024 works focus on European textile loanwords and soft furnishings terminology, while 2022 contributions analyze furniture's cultural history and Hellenistic iconography.
