Prof. Dilek Ural is a Professor of Cardiology at Koç University School of Medicine, where she has served since 2016. Previously, she held professorships at Kocaeli University from 1996 to 2016, including roles as Head of the Department of Cardiology (2008-2014), Head of the Department of Internal Medicine (2012-2016), and Director of the Experimental and Clinical Research Center (2007-2016). Her leadership extended to national cardiovascular initiatives and ethical oversight through the Human Research Ethics Committee (2006-2015).

Prof. Ural's clinical and research expertise centers on heart failure, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia management, with significant contributions to cardiovascular disease prevention in Turkey. As Coordinator of the National CVD Prevention Programme (2008-2012) and Head of the Women’s Cardiac Health Project Group (2012-2014), she pioneered gender-specific cardiac care strategies and population-level risk reduction initiatives. Her work integrates clinical practice with public health policy to address cardiovascular disparities.
With over 200 publications in national and international journals, a clinical cardiology textbook, and five book chapters, Prof. Ural has substantially advanced cardiovascular literature. She currently shapes scholarly discourse as Chief Editor of the Archives of the Turkish Society of Cardiology.
Her leadership in research infrastructure is exemplified by her direction of Kocaeli University's Experimental and Clinical Research Center (2007-2016), which facilitated translational studies and clinical trials. Prof. Ural remains influential through her ongoing membership on the Turkish Society of Cardiology's Competency Board, where she establishes standards for cardiovascular specialist certification.
