Diganta Dutta

Dr. Diganta Dutta is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the Engineering Foundations program at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK). His research focuses on nanoscale characterization of biological cells and tissues, microfluidics, and energy harvesting applications.

His teaching philosophy prioritizes hands-on learning, critical thinking, and simplifying complex concepts. Since 2000, he has taught and mentored students at multiple institutions, serving roles such as teaching assistant, researcher, and assistant professor internationally.

Dr. Dutta’s professional experience includes self-teaching, tutoring high school and university students in math, physics, and engineering, and integrating his nanotechnology research into educational practices.
