Dieter Herberg

Dieter Herberg served as a Researcher at the Institute for the German Language (IDS), working in the Lexis Department from 1992 to 2002. He managed key projects including the Keywords of the Wendezeit (completed 1996) and the Neologism Dictionary (launched 1996). Before joining IDS, he studied German at the University of Leipzig (1956–1961) and held roles as a research associate and department head at the Central Institute for Linguistics of the Academy of Sciences in Berlin (1961–1991). He retired in November 2002. His research focused on lexicology, lexicography, and orthography of contemporary German.
