Dr. Diego Morris is an Assistant Professor of Industrial Economics in the Department of Management at the University of Birmingham's Birmingham Business School. He holds a PhD and MRes in Economics from the University of Manchester and has previously held academic positions at Nottingham Trent University and teaching roles at the University of Strathclyde and the University of Manchester.

His teaching includes courses on Globalisation, Innovation and Competitiveness, Strategically Understanding the Business Environment, and Sustainable Innovation.
His recent publications, spanning from 2018 to 2024, reveal a strong trend in analyzing innovation dynamics and economic resilience in emerging markets, particularly in the contexts of energy shocks, climate finance, and global crises. The research employs applied econometrics to study firm-level and country-level data, contributing to policy-relevant insights in development and environmental economics.
