Diego Maggi is an Assistant Professor of Spanish and Hispanic Studies in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Lehigh University. His research examines Latin American cultural production through the lenses of migration, collective memory, and identity politics in 20th-21st century literature and film.
His educational background includes:

- M.S. in Spanish Literature and Cultural Studies from Georgetown University
- M.A. in Literature from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá

Maggi's scholarship critically investigates mass migration as a catalyst for trauma and nostalgia in national narratives, with particular attention to gendered and racialized experiences. His work reveals how cinematic and literary representations contest patriarchal structures while negotiating cultural memory in post-dictatorship societies across Latin America.
Analysis of his publications shows consistent engagement with transnational identity formation, feminist reinterpretations of Orientalism, and subaltern voices in both Latin American and Middle Eastern contexts, demonstrating methodological breadth across geopolitical boundaries.
