Diego Garcia Perez

Diego Garcia Perez is an Assistant Professor at the University of Oviedo, affiliated with the Department of Electrical, Electronic, Communications and Systems Engineering (DIEECS). He is a member of the GSDPI Group for Supervision, Diagnosis and Knowledge Discovery in Engineering Processes and previously contributed to the MIDAS group focused on industrial systems automation and diagnostics. His PhD (2021) from the University of Oviedo explored energy disaggregation techniques for improving energy efficiency in processes and buildings, supervised by Dr. Ignacio Díaz Blanco and Dr. Manuel Dominguez Gonzalez.

Research interests include systems engineering, industrial automation, and data-driven approaches for optimizing energy systems. His work bridges engineering processes with advanced analytical methods to enhance sustainability and operational efficiency.

Labs/Teams: Active member of the GSDPI and MIDAS research groups, collaborating on engineering process optimization and industrial diagnostics.
