معرفی
Diego Dall'Alba is an Assistant Professor (tenure track) at the Department of Computer Science, University of Verona, specializing in surgical robotics and computer-assisted interventions. He is affiliated with the Altair robotics laboratory and works on advanced research projects including ARS (Autonomous Robotic Surgery) and MURAB (MRI and Ultrasound Robotic Assisted Biopsy).
Education:
- Master Degree with honors in "Intelligent and multimedia systems" from University of Verona (2010)
- Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Verona (2014)
Dr. Dall'Alba's research focuses on surgical robotics, with particular emphasis on advanced sensing and multi-modal data processing techniques. His work in computer assisted surgery and ultrasound guided systems aims to improve surgical precision and outcomes through robotics technology. He has been a member of the Altair robotics laboratory since 2008 and has participated in multiple European research projects including AccuRobAs, Safros, ISUR and MURAB.
Throughout his career, Dr. Dall'Alba has taught numerous courses across various degree programs, including Introduction to Robotic Surgery for Medicine and Surgery students, Robot programming and control for Computer Engineering students, and System theory for Computer Science students. His teaching spans both theoretical and laboratory components across multiple academic years.
Dr. Dall'Alba maintains active research collaborations, having worked as a visiting researcher at the University of British Columbia in 2012. He currently leads research efforts in the ARS and ATLAS projects, focusing on autonomous robotic surgery applications.
His laboratory work is centered at the Altair robotics laboratory (part of INTELLIGO Labs), where he conducts research on surgical robotics systems and develops novel approaches to robotic-assisted medical procedures.
