Prof. Dick de Zeeuw is a renowned Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology, University of Groningen. He holds the Chair of the Ethics Committee nWMO-plichtig Research and directs the Groningen Institute for Drug Exploration (GUIDE). His work focuses on renal physiology, diabetes complications, and clinical trials in nephrology.
Education: MD from RUG (1975), PhD in Medicine (1980), and postdoctoral training in Clinical Pharmacology at UT Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas, USA).
Research interests include albuminuria mechanisms, renal function preservation, and novel drug development for diabetic kidney disease. He chairs major international trials (e.g., CREDENCE, CANVAS) and serves on editorial boards of journals like the Journal of the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System and Kidney International.
Key achievements include over 600 publications, an H-index of 85, and leadership in global nephrology organizations. Awards include the Lennart Hansson Memorial Lecture Award and the Saal van Zwanenberg Prize.
