Diann S Eley

Professor Diann S. Eley is the Director of MD Student Research in the Academy for Medical Education at the School of Medicine, The University of Queensland. She chairs the MD Student Research Advisory Committee and the UQ Human Research Ethics Committee. With a career spanning academic and research roles, her work focuses on medical education, rural health workforce development, and student well-being.

Diann holds a PhD in health and exercise psychology from the University of Bristol (2000) and an MSc in reproductive physiology from the University of Florida. Her research integrates personality psychology with medical education frameworks, examining how traits like resilience and perfectionism influence student outcomes.

Her recent publications analyze temperament-character interactions and their impact on career satisfaction in healthcare professionals. She leads the Clinician Scientist Track and MD-PhD program at UQ, fostering research integration in medical training.
