Diane Seibert

Diane Seibert, PhD, FAANP, FAAN, is a Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Daniel K. Inouye Graduate School of Nursing (GSN) at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). She holds dual certifications as a Women’s Health and Adult Nurse Practitioner and maintains a clinical practice at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Her academic roles include co-chairing the University Interprofessional Education and Practice Taskforce and representing GSN on the University’s Strategic Performance and Resourcing Committee.

Education: Dr. Seibert earned a BSN from Kent State University (1979), MSN from University of Maryland, Baltimore (1994), and PhD from University of Maryland, College Park (2002). She has held certifications in Menopause Clinician and Lamaze Childbirth Education.

Research Interests: Her work focuses on genomics in nursing practice and education, interprofessional collaboration, and advancing nursing curricula. She has authored over 40 publications, including seminal works on genomic nursing science and competency frameworks.

Awards: Notable honors include the AANP Advocate State Award (2017), Order of Military Medical Merit (2015), and ISONG’s Founders in Education Award (2014). She is a Fellow in both the American Academy of Nursing and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Leadership: Dr. Seibert has directed the Family Nurse Practitioner program for a decade, chaired accreditation and merit review committees, and mentored numerous faculty. Her initiatives include virtual oral examinations during the pandemic and integrating genomic education into curricula.

Labs/Teams: Active in interprofessional education policy and military healthcare readiness, she collaborates across disciplines to enhance healthcare delivery systems.
