Diane Renee Bielenberg is an Assistant Professor in the Vascular Biology Program at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Her research focuses on cancer biology, metastasis, and the molecular mechanisms of angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis.
- BS in Chemistry and Biology, University of Northern Iowa
- PhD in Cancer Biology, University of Texas Health Science Center
The Bielenberg laboratory investigates:
- Role of Semaphorin 3F and Neuropilin 2 in tumor angiogenesis/lymphangiogenesis
- Therapeutic potential of lymphangiogenesis modulation
- Mechanisms of debris-stimulated metastasis and resolution
- VEGF receptor dynamics in cancer progression
Her work spans cancer biology, molecular biology, and vascular pathology, with recent studies on lipid mediators, 3D biomimetic models, and Wnt/VEGF inhibition strategies.
- Howard Temin Award (NCI)
- Dr. Patricia Wexler Award (Skin Cancer Foundation)
- Patterson Trust Award
- Harvard Young Mentor Award (2008)
Dr. Bielenberg's research is supported by grants from the NCI, Skin Cancer Foundation, and Patterson Trust, with collaborations on tumor microenvironment regulation, organ-specific metastasis, and resolution-based therapies.
