Diana Pence

Dr. Diana Pence is an Associate Professor in the Accounting and International Business department at the University of Houston-Downtown, where she has taught since September 2006. Her contact email is penced@uhd.edu.

• Education: Ph.D. in Accounting (University of North Texas, 1996), MPA (University of Nebraska at Omaha), and BS in Business Administration (University of Nebraska at Omaha).

Research interests include Financial Accounting and Accounting History, with a focus on legislative impacts on taxation, educational reform, and behavioral studies. Her publications span topics like cross-border retirement account taxation, mindfulness in accounting, and fraud detection tactics.

University-level service includes roles on the Campus Carry Safety Committee and University Rank and Tenure Committee. She has served on multiple departmental and college-level committees, including as Chair for the Dept Rank & Tenure Committee and Dept Annual Review Committee.

Teaching encompasses Intermediate Accounting I, II, III and Accounting/Financial Info courses, with over two decades of experience in accounting education and curriculum development.
