Diana Margarit is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science, International Relations and European Studies at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași, Romania, where she teaches courses on international organizations and global governance. She has also taught at the Universidade da Coruña International Summer School in 2016.
She earned her PhD from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in 2011 with a dissertation examining conceptual mutations of democracy between nation-state frameworks and supranational political structures.
Her research centers on 21st-century global governance dynamics, focusing on the evolution of international organizations and transnational social movements. She investigates how democratic principles adapt within supranational institutions, bridging political science theory with practical governance challenges in European and global contexts. Her work critically analyzes power structures in multilateral systems.
Dr. Margarit co-authored International Organizations (2011, in Romanian and English with A. Carpinschi), On the Edges of Democracy. From nation-state to the global sphere (2013, in Romanian), and co-edited The Bestiary of Power (2014, in Romanian with Alexandru Tofan). Her teaching portfolio includes International Organizations, Theories and Institutions of Policy, and Comparative Analysis of Political Systems.
