Diana Kormos Buchwald serves as the Robert M. Abbey Professor of History and Director/General Editor of The Einstein Papers Project at the California Institute of Technology. She holds affiliations with the Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences and the Research Institute for the History of Science and Technology (RIHST). Her academic journey includes degrees from Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (B.Sc., 1981), Tel Aviv University (M.Sc., 1983), Harvard University (A.M., 1985), and a Ph.D. from Harvard in 1990.
Her research focuses on science, politics, and culture between 1895–1945, emphasizing textual analysis of scientific ideas and controversies. As director of The Einstein Papers Project since 2000, she leads efforts to document Einstein's intellectual legacy. Notable works include a 2025 biography of Einstein and Volume 17 of the Einstein Papers series (2024).
