Diana Barroso

Diana Barroso, Ed.D., LMHC, is Professor and Director of the Master’s in Psychology Programs at Albizu University (Miami Campus). With over 30 years in counseling and behavioral healthcare, she oversees campus-based and online programs in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage/Family Therapy, School Counseling, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Her leadership includes curriculum development, federal grant management, and institutional accreditation efforts.

• M.S. in Mental Health Counseling, Nova Southeastern University
• B.A. in Psychology, Florida International University

Research Interests: Cross-cultural psychology, trauma disorders, psychotherapy efficacy, academic resilience, leadership, and mentoring. Her work emphasizes minority mental health and educational equity.

Recent Scholarship: Her 2021 publication examines pandemic-driven transformations in higher education, highlighting distance learning challenges and innovations.

Professional Engagement: Licensed in Florida as a Mental Health Counselor and Clinical Supervisor. Active in ACA, AMHCA, AAMFT, and other associations.
