Dhruv Gulabchande serves as a Studio Tutor in the School of Architecture and Landscape at the University of Sheffield, while simultaneously practicing as a chartered Architect, Associate Director, and Research Lead at HFM Architects in London.
His academic and professional qualifications include:
- BA(Hons) Architecture from the University of Westminster
- MArch Architecture from the University of Greenwich
- PGDip Architecture from the University of Westminster
Gulabchande's research integrates narrative constructs with spatial design, focusing on repurposing vacant retail spaces on declining high streets through high-tech expression mediums. His work explores architectural storytelling via platforms like the Chai Talks audio series and leverages computational tools such as Grasshopper to promote architectural education in schools, specifically targeting increased profession diversity. This narrative-driven approach extends to his professional projects in public realm design within the retail sector.
He founded Narrative Practice—a mentoring and research platform providing global complimentary tutoring during the COVID-19 pandemic—which operationalizes his philosophy that all spatial forms embody social narratives. His industry engagement includes RIBA chartered membership and ARB registration, bridging academic instruction with real-world architectural practice.
