Dhawal Buaria

Dhawal Buaria is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas Tech University. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and B.Tech and M.Tech degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.

His research focuses on large-scale fluid dynamics, particularly fully turbulent flows, combining theoretical frameworks, high-fidelity numerical simulations, and deep learning to uncover universal properties of turbulence, mixing, and transport phenomena. His work has been published in journals such as Nature Communications, Physical Review Letters, and PNAS.

Recent publications emphasize deep learning applications in turbulence modeling, extreme event analysis, and Lagrangian-Eulerian scaling in high Reynolds number flows. His methodologies include large eddy simulation (LES), Navier-Stokes regularization, and GPU-optimized algorithms for petascale computing.
