Devyani Lal

Dr. Devyani Lal is Professor of Otolaryngology at Mayo College of Medicine and Science with a joint appointment in Neurological Surgery. She serves as Division Chair of Rhinology, Dean of Education for Mayo Clinic in Arizona, and is a member of the Executive Operations Team. Dr. Lal leads the Rhinology and Endoscopic Cranial Base Surgery Fellowship program and holds significant leadership positions in national professional organizations including the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and American Rhinologic Society.

Dr. Lal's research focuses on rhinology and endoscopic skull base surgery, with specific expertise in severe sinus disease requiring primary or revision surgery, endoscopic repair of cerebrospinal leaks, endoscopic surgery for pituitary and skull base tumors, and management of sinus and nasal cancers. Her publication record includes over 150 scientific articles, book chapters, and major consensus documents including the International Consensus Statement on Allergy and Rhinology series.

Her recent publications demonstrate a strong emphasis on sinonasal tumors, genetics of chronic rhinosinusitis, and evidence-based approaches to rhinology. The research spans clinical outcomes, surgical techniques, and molecular mechanisms underlying inflammatory sinus conditions.
