Devon Emerson Hinton, M.D., Ph.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, affiliated with the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine. He specializes in cultural psychiatry, focusing on trauma treatment for refugees and culturally adapted therapies. His work includes developing a manualized treatment effective for Cambodian, Vietnamese, and Spanish-speaking populations. Dr. Hinton is a former member of the DSM-V Cultural Study Group and advisor to the Anxiety, OC, Posttraumatic, and Dissociative Disorders Work Group (APA). He has authored over 130 articles, 30 chapters, and co-edited seminal volumes such as Culture and Panic Disorder and Culture and PTSD.
