Devon Curtis is an Official Fellow at Emmanuel College and Associate Professor in Politics and International Studies (POLIS) at the University of Cambridge. She serves as the Adviser to Women Students and will become Director of the Cambridge Centre of African Studies in 2025. Previously, she studied at McGill University and the London School of Economics (LSE), where she earned her PhD in International Relations.

Her research focuses on post-conflict governance, non-state armed movements in Africa, and critical analyses of conflict, peacebuilding, and development. She specializes in the contemporary politics of the Great Lakes region (Burundi, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of the Congo) and examines how knowledge production and global partnerships shape international affairs.
Devon has held prestigious fellowships at institutions such as Stanford University, Columbia University, and the University of Ottawa. She has also worked as a consultant for international NGOs and contributed to research at the Privy Council Office of Canada and the United Nations Staff College.
On sabbatical in 2024, she will assume leadership at the Cambridge Centre of African Studies in 2025. Her teaching at the university level includes courses on 'Politics of Conflict and Peace' and 'Politics of Africa,' with supervision of postgraduate research topics in African politics and international relations.
