Devika Dass

Devika Dass serves as a Research Fellow at the CONNECT Centre, Trinity College Dublin, specializing in advanced optical communications and photonic technologies for next-generation network systems.

Her research focuses on developing ultra-flexible silicon photonics optical sources for reconfigurable millimeter wave transmission systems and high-bandwidth intra-datacenter interconnects. Key expertise includes advanced modulation formats in converged optical access networks, characterization of Si-based photonic devices, photonic mmWave generation, and passive optical networks. She has conducted experimental analysis of free space optical communication attenuation in urban environments and fog conditions, along with Radio over Fiber technology simulations.

Devika is actively affiliated with the CONNECT Centre at Trinity College Dublin, a leading telecommunications research hub. Her doctoral work pioneered integrable low-noise optical sources for multi-service environments, combining optical switch fabrics with high-bandwidth data center solutions. Current research targets short-reach intra-DC connections and network reconfigurability through novel photonic device implementations.
