Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK)معرفی
Devendra Mani serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), where he has been employed since June 2020. His academic journey includes a PhD from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore (2014) and an M.Sc. from DDU Gorakhpur University (2007), followed by postdoctoral research at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany (2014-2020).
His research focuses on high-resolution molecular spectroscopy, helium nanodroplets, and non-covalent interactions, with particular emphasis on chemical reactions at ultracold temperatures and interstellar chemistry. His work bridges physical chemistry with astrochemistry, examining molecular behavior under extreme conditions relevant to space environments.
His publications reveal a strong focus on understanding water dimer spectra, acid solvation mechanisms in cosmic conditions, and carbon bonding interactions. These contributions demonstrate his expertise in molecular physics and his ability to connect laboratory findings with astronomical phenomena.
As an educator, he teaches advanced courses in spectroscopy, group theory, and quantum chemistry, preparing the next generation of physical chemists.
